What are Athletic Trainers?

"Athletic Trainers (ATs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled healthcare professionals who render service or treatment, under the direction of/or in collaboration with a physician, in accordance with their education, training, and the state's statutes, rules and regulations. As a part of the healthcare team, services provided by athletic trainers include primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions." - National Athletic Trainers' Association

Heather Meck MS, LAT, ATC, ITAT

Meet Your Athletic Trainer: Heather Meck MS, LAT, ATC, ITAT is a graduate of Brandywine Heights class of 2014. Heather attended Alvernia University where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training in 2019. Heather then went on to attend West Chester University of Pennsylvania where she obtained her Masters of Science in Athletic Training in 2021. While at West Chester, Heather worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at West Chester Bayard Rustin High School. Heather joined the St. Luke's University Sports Medicine Staff as a faculty athletic trainer in the fall of 2021. She is also an Impact Trained Athletic Trainer (ITAT). Heather came to Fleetwood Area School District in the fall of 2021. She is excited to grow and flourish as a clinician with the student-athletes of Fleetwood. Through the NATA, Heather has made the Fleetwood Athletic Training Room a Safe Space for All. During her free time, Heather enjoys spending time with her dogs, Franklin & CJ, cat, Slider, and husband, Jonah. She also enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family.

 

Christian Klucsarits MS, LAT, ATC, ITAT

Meet Your Athletic Trainer: Christian Klucsarits MS, LAT, ATC, ITAT is a graduate of Brandywine Heights class of 2014. Christian attended Alvernia University where he obtained his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training in 2018. Christian then went on to attend West Chester University of Pennsylvania where he obtained his Masters of Science in Athletic Training in 2020. While at West Chester, Christian worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with West Chester's men's soccer team and women's lacrosse team. During his time as a graduate assistant, Christian was able to travel to back-to-back National Championships with the men's soccer team and women's lacrosse team. Christian joined the St. Luke's University Sports Medicine Staff as a faculty athletic trainer in the fall of 2020. Christian then became a lead athletic trainer with St. Luke's in the Spring of 2022. With St. Luke's, Christian is a member of the Concussion Sub-Committee, Action Research Team, Marketing Service Team, Policies and Procedure Service Team, and is a Certified CPR Instructor. He is also an Impact Trained Athletic Trainer (ITAT). Christian acted as the Sports Medicine Coordinator for the PIAA Football Championships in 2022. From 2020-2021, he was the primary athletic trainer at Antietam Middle-Senior High School. Christian came to Fleetwood Area School District in the fall of 2021 and is excited to continue his athletic training career with the student-athletes of Fleetwood. During his free time, Christian enjoys spending time with his cat, Lily, watching movies, riding his bike, watching the Green Bay Packers, and hanging out with friends.
